"Why I want a horse…"
a contest for children ages 7-12

Congratulations to our 1st, Second and
Third Place winners!

1st Place
Alexis Husmann wrote:
"We could become good friends! If I'm patient and gentle with him, he'll learn to trust me. We could develop a bond where both of us could learn trust, honesty and friendship. We could give the other unconditional love."

First Place Prize - Alexis will participate in the Longmeadow Rescue Ranch Parade of Animals during the National Charity Horse Show opening ceremonies, receive her very own certificate of care and sponsorship for a Barn Buddy horse that she may visit and groom, take five half-hour riding lessons at Baskin Farm in Wildwood, MO and enjoy a picnic lunch with up to ten friends and family members at Longmeadow Rescue Ranch.

2nd Place
Deanne Pisarkiewicz wrote:
"A horse is what I really need. There's nothing like a spirited steed. X-box, Nintendo, Playstation2, I'd take a horse over all of you. To have a real horse is my wish - to walk, to see it each morning and greet it with a kiss."

Second Place Prize: Deanne will participate in the Longmeadow Rescue Ranch Parade of Animals during the National Charity Horse Show opening ceremonies, receive her very own certificate of care and sponsorship for a Barn Buddy horse that she may visit and groom, and take three half-hour riding lessons at Baskin Farm in Wildwood, MO.

3rd Place
Mary Austin wrote:
"What's Inside - I really, really want a horse. What breed, I don't care. From Arab to Palomino, what's on the outside doesn't count. What does is from the heart."

Third Place Prize: Mary will participate in the Longmeadow Rescue Ranch Parade of Animals during the National Charity Horse Show opening ceremonies and receive her very own certificate of care and sponsorship for a Barn Buddy horse that she may visit and groom.
